Los Angeles, California, October 27, 2010 - Owner Aaron Thomas uses a green lamp to illuminate a room of cannabis plants flowering at the goring center for The Lazy Rabbit, which grows, processes and distributes medical cannabis to dispensaries in California as allowed by the California Compassionate Use Act, which allows people with a prescription to use and cultivate medicinal marijuana. The control of light is important to manipulate the growing cycle of the plants, the green light does not affect the photosynthesis process for the plant, says Thomas. About 2 ½ years ago Thomas fell which nearly killed him. He said that was on Percocet, Oxycotin and a host of other drugs. "They wanted to put me on antidepressants, but I said 'no'" says Thomas, "Then my doctor recommended cannabis." It worked so well for him, the he started researching the plant and about six months ago started this business, The Lazy Rabbit, to help create a stable and consistent product. "Up until recently this product has been distributed by criminals. We need to change the perception of cannabis... We need to be working with doctors and scientists to understand the medicinal effects." Currently his operation is not even breaking even because he allows people to pay what they can afford for it. "My goal is to supply stable and consistent medical cannabis to facilitate the medical needs and to actually cure people." ..
